Luxembourg's social security system explained for cross-border workers
The Ministry of Family Affairs, Solidarity, Living Together and Reception of Refugees has launched the podcast “Grenzgeschichten (Histoires sans frontières) – Live and work between Germany and Luxembourg”, aimed at people who live in Germany and work in Luxembourg.
The CCSS was pleased to contribute to this initiative by participating in episodes 7 (in French) and 9 (in German), which focus on social security and health insurance in Luxembourg.
In episode 9, a staff member from the CCSS “Service des salariés international” (International Employees Service) provides practical explanations of the main procedures and essential information for people who work in Luxembourg while residing in Germany.
Listen to episode 9 “Kranken- & Sozialversicherung in Luxemburg – Das müssen Grenzgänger wissen: CNS, CCSS, S1-Formular und wichtige Tipps für den Start” on Spotify.
On 5 November 2026, the French version of episode 7 will also become available on Spotify, featuring the contribution of another staff member from the CCSS “Service des salariés international”.
