The Social Security Centre (Centre commun de la sécurité sociale - CCSS) has just published its 5th annual report (french version only), summarizing its activities for the year 2022. The report details its organization, its various missions and main activities, as well as the corresponding key figures. These figures are put into a multi-year perspective, reflecting the continuity in which the CCSS carries out its business.
The figures for 2022 significantly exceed those of the previous year. For example, social security contributions will rise from 6.8 billion in 2021 to 7.3 billion in 2022. The rise in contributions is explained in particular by the significant increase in the number of contributors, whether salaried employees (+3.31%), self-employed workers (+2.47%) or voluntarily insured individuals (+14.75%).
In 2022, the CCSS processed 560,400 entry and exit declarations (515,055 in 2021) as well as 10,494,949 (9,903,832) wage declarations resulting in 96,204 (93,255) monthly invoices, issued and sent to employers, self-employed persons and voluntary insured persons. The CCSS managed the affiliation of 486,503 (470,919) employees, 28,748 (28,056) self-employed workers and 22,720 (19,799) voluntarily insured individuals. 10,161 (7,147) summonses were issued and 283 (202) checks were carried out.
The CCSS issued 2,316,807 (2,350,056) letters and processed 181,996 (159,611) e-mails and 206,216 (179,734) incoming letters.
As part of its drive to improve services to its users, the CCSS has deployed a new telephone switchboard to handle 199,951 (209,372) incoming calls. This desire to continue improving its services is also reflected in the creation of a Quality Department in November 2022. For Claude Seywert, Chairman of the CCSS,
"The reliability of our services, the simplification of procedures, digitalization and the provision of quality services are at the heart of our concerns".
