To be declared:
- students residing abroad undertaking an internship in Luxembourg and who do not have work accident cover in their country of residence must affiliate for all social security risks.
However, if the internship does not exceed three months per calendar year, the trainee is only affiliated for work accident. Please note: the maximum duration of three months also applies when several internship contracts are accumulated.
Not to be declared:
- pupils and students undertaking an internship organised by a school in Luxembourg (covered by the school's accident insurance);
- pupils and students residing in Luxembourg undertaking an internship organised by an educational institution established abroad (covered by the school's accident insurance);
- students residing abroad undertaking an internship in Luxembourg organised by an educational institution established abroad and who have work accident cover in their country of residence;
The aforementioned internships must be documented by a work placement agreement countersigned by the educational institution.
