Incapacity for work covered by the National Health Fund

- maternity leave (including exemption from work for pregnant women);

- adoption leave (adopting a child);

- employee sick leave where the employer has already fulfilled their obligations to continue paying the wage, i.e. up to the end of the month in which the 77th day of continuation of the wage payment is reached for a period of 18 months (article L.121-6, paragraph 3, subparagraph 2 of the Luxembourg Labour Code);  

Please note: during the COVID-19 crisis (from 01.04.2020 and up to the end of the month in which the crisis will be declared to have ended), all leave due to sickness (or an accident) are covered by the National Health Fund (CNS), even if the employer has not reached the limit of 77 days for continuation of the wage payment.
